Real Food | Real Stories | Real Roots
I never set out to “start a business.”
Back in 2004, I felt a tug I couldn’t ignore — a certain knowing:
We’re meant to live differently. Eat differently. Gather differently.
I didn’t want to impress people with perfectly plated meals.
I wanted to nourish and nurture them — with real food and care.
To honor local farmers, cook with ancestral ingredients, and bring people back to the table with a back-to-basics approach to food and community.
Nearly 20 years later, I’m still following that same thread.
From catering weddings and retreats…
To teaching women how to can, ferment, and preserve…
To building menus around what’s in season from our local CSAs…
This has always been about a real food lifestyle.
We call it The Real Food Movement — and it’s never been more needed.
A Turning Point
In 2023, something shifted.
I sat down to interview my 88-year-old father.
What started as a way to preserve his memories for my son turned into something bigger.
As he spoke about his childhood — my grandmother preserving tomatoes, cooking from scratch, feeding a family through hardship — I saw it.
A pattern. A blueprint. A legacy.
I started recording not just his stories, but those of our family elders.
And I realized:
They’ve been carrying the wisdom we’re all so hungry for.
The slower, simpler, sovereign way of life we ache to return to.
That’s when I knew Wylder Space had to become more.
Not just a catering company.
But a community, a guide to get back on course. A call to return.
Today at Wylder Space
We still cater meaningful gatherings.
But we also teach the skills that sustain them.
Traditional food education through our online courses
Faith-rooted rhythms for home and health
Kitchen-based income tools for women seeking sovereignty
A community of like-hearted women walking the same slow path
From our little kitchen in the Santa Cruz Mountains, we’re holding a lantern for the woman who’s ready to come home —
to her food, her values, her faith, and her future.
You don’t need a homestead.
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to begin — with one loaf, one jar, one simple meal made with love.
Welcome to Wylder Space.
You’ve always belonged here.
